Identify the top routes from the site broken out By Subnet, By AS Path, By AS Destination Peer or By AS Destination. Path analysis requires that automatic tracing be enabled.

Clicking on a subnet, AS Path, or AS will retrieve additional information about that address. Clicking on the [+] symbol drills down to a more detailed view of the subnets in a particular AS, or the path to a particular destination subnet. Clicking on column headings sorts the column. For example, clicking on Avg. Hops sorts by the average number of hops to the destination.

The By Destination Address option allows an address to by specified and presents information on the path to the subnet containing the address. This path view is also accessed by drilling down from the top paths table above.

The detailed Path view shows the routers on the path sorted by the TTL (number of hops) to reach them. Clicking on a router IP address will obtain additional information about the organisation maintaining the router. Delay and loss information is provided for each router in the Router Stats section of the table.

Selecting the Custom option provides additional query options:


Filter for entries that match a particular path or path fragment. For example,

-12 Destination AS must be 12.
12- Peer AS must be 12.
-12-15- Path must pass through AS 12 and AS 15.


The pathType determines the granularity to use when aggregating destination routes. The following path types are available:

  • subnet By Subnet
  • aspath By AS Path
  • aspeer By AS Destination Peer
  • asdestination By AS Destination


Specifies how results should be sorted when aggregating path data.

  • path Sort the by the destination path.
  • avgHops Sort by the average number of router hops to the destination.
  • avgRTT Sort by the average round-trip time to the destination.
  • lossRate Sort by the average packet loss rate to the destination.
  • tests Sort by the number of tests performed.
  • bytes Sort by the number of bytes sent on the path.


The following result formats are recognized:

  • csv Returns a plain text table of results with each field separated by a comma.
  • html Returns a formatted html table of results.


Specify the number of rows to return in the result table. A truncation value is usually specified in conjunction with resultSort to generate a top N table. For example,

resultSort=bytes&resultTruncate=10 would return the top 10 entries sorted by bytes.

Leave blank if no truncation is required and all results should be returned.


Select the period. Valid settings are:
