InMon Corp. is selected to join the HP ProCurve Open Network Ecosystem and introduces Traffic Sentinel as a HP ProCurve ONE application

San Francisco, California — Jan. 26, 2009 — In a move designed to help customers rapidly identify and resolve network performance and security issues, InMon Corporation today announced that it has been selected to join the HP ProCurve Open Network Ecosystem (HP ProCurve ONE) Alliance program. Concurrently, InMon introduced InMon Traffic Sentinel as a HP ProCurve ONE application.

HP ProCurve ONE is a formal program for delivering interoperable networking solutions that meet the top enterprise customer business needs of accelerating growth, lowering costs and mitigating risks. As a ProCurve ONE member, InMon, the leading supplier of traffic monitoring solutions for high-speed switched and routed networks, now has solutions that have been certified for interoperability with HP ProCurve network infrastructure products. Customers and resellers worldwide can be confident that HP ProCurve and InMon products will work together to meet real-world business requirements.

InMon Traffic Sentinel provides best-in-class enterprise-wide traffic management and surveillance of complex, multi-layer switched and routed networks, enabling the rapid identification and resolution of network performance and security issues. With the availability of Traffic Sentinel as a HP ProCurve ONE application, the software is hosted in the switch itself, allowing deployment, management and maintenance to be directly under the control of networking staff. Together with the sFlow® capability of the HP ProCurve switches, network-wide traffic monitoring and analysis is fully integrated into the network infrastructure.

Designed as a highly scalable and cost-effective solution, Traffic Sentinel can monitor the entire network from one location in the network. It can detect direct security attacks, or more subtle misuse, such as peer to peer or illegal downloading, or corporate espionage and data leakage. It can also optimize network performance around business requirements, and plan future capacity growth based on demonstrated need.

"InMon is pleased to announce the availability of Traffic Sentinel as a HP ProCurve ONE application. Traffic Sentinel as a HP ProCurve ONE application provides network managers and IT staff with a unique solution. In addition to taking maximum advantage of industry standard sFlow built into HP ProCurve switches and routers, Traffic Sentinel itself is now fully integrated into the network. This solution gives full visibility into the network traffic across the enterprise and is easy to use, manage and deploy." said Peter Phaal, President, InMon Corp.

"To help customers address the increased pace of change within their businesses, HP ProCurve is combining its own technology with some of the most innovative, respected and visionary companies in the world," said Marius Haas, senior vice president and general manager, HP ProCurve. "By collaborating with InMon, HP ProCurve will enable our customers to enhance security, performance and reliability of their network infrastructure."
